Art is such an incredible means of expression. My painting, as in my music and broadcasting career, has involved decades of study, experimentation and a substantial emotional investment.
I find joy in the creation of each piece of artwork that has found its way into the hearts, homes, cottages, offices of clients. The hope is to make people smile when they look at their painting. My signature whimsical style is simply my interpretation of nature and of life.
Over the years, I am so grateful that my artwork has been featured on television programs, in magazines, newspapers and designer window displays. I have had the wonderful opportunity to feature my artwork in Canadian Galleries as well as shows in the USA and Europe.
I thought I would show you the process in creating my custom chairlift paintings!
When I opened my studio 7 years ago in Thornbury, I was quickly inspired by the quirky shops on Bruce St. North. Through my paintings customers and visitors alike can enjoy their favourite stops, shops & cafes as they come to life on canvas. It is such fun to create custom downtown Thornbury & Collingwood scenes for clients with their favourite places!
Après Ski time at the Private Ski Clubs or at Blue Mountain Village is truly a seasonal favorite for most skiers and winter enthusiasts alike.
It is also the inspiration for my "Apres Ski" themed paintings. Commissions are welcome and fun to put together with clients!
There is a whimsical magic about "The Village" at Blue Mountain. I was immediately inspired to try and bring some of that magic onto canvas. Today, they have evolved into memory boards for families. I love to paint my own renditions of the Village and also enjoy creating commissions for families of their favorite places...their memories of special times spent at this very magical place.
I really enjoy working with The Blue Mountain Village Association doing Live Art Demo's on select weekends during the Summer and Fall months. It is such fun to engage with visitors who are excited to watch the process and share their favorite memories and places at Blue Mountain Village.
It has been quite the journey developing this unique technique that enables me to move paint in this sweeping flowing manner, creating almost a flower petal or water wave effect. I can control the colour hues I am using; however, I never really know how they will turn out until they have completely dried. I am inspired by the fabulous colour combinations I discover when working with Benjamin Moore. We have seen so much white over the past few years that this is an exciting way for me to offer my clients something truly unique and the ability to find accessories to decorate around the artwork or tie in an existing colour scheme in their home, office or chalet.
Clients always see something different in each painting whether it is hung horizontally or vertically in their space!

Being a professional entertainer, I have been lucky enough to have travelled and performed in the most exciting locations and it has also allowed me the opportunity to people watch and be the inspiration for my "Ladies Night Out" bar scenes. The fun is in the texture of their hair and also adding a touch of jewelry bling!
Flowers...growing up in the floral industry, I was inspired by the incredible colour and texture of petals and leaves. I enjoy bringing the flowers to life with textured mediums and acrylics on canvas.
